It retains heat well so you can sear meat at higher temperatures and will keep your delicious meals warm for a long time. Whether used in a kitchen or camp, theses virtually indestructible cookware should last for generations. Made of cast iron, this Skillet evenly distributes heat from the bottom through the sidewalls. Sporting a stylish black color, the cast iron Skillet looks good in most kitchens and it doubles up as an excellent source of nutritional iron. Cast Iron, like your grandmother used, still ranks as one of the best cooking utensils ever made. It gives you a nearly non-stick surface, without the possible harmful fumes generated by preheating chemically treated nonstick cookware. The American-based company, Lodge, has been fine-tuning its construction of rugged, cast-iron cookware for more than a century. Care-wash with mild soapy water and dry and oil immediately. However consider that cookware is 400 degree fahrenheit in 4 minutes on medium heat and is sterile at 212 degree fahrenheit so soap is not always necessary. Dishwashers, strong detergents and metal scouring pads are not recommended as they remove seasoning

The American-based company Lodge has been fine-tuning its construction of rugged, cast-iron cookware for more than a century. No other metal is as long-lasting and works as well for spreading and retaining heat evenly during cooking. Lodge’s Logic line of cookware comes factory pre-seasoned with the company’s vegetable oil formula, and is ready to use right out of the box. After cooking, simply scrub the cast iron with a stiff brush and hot water, no soap, and dry immediately.

Breakfast in particular somehow tastes extra hearty when cooked in a heavy cast-iron skillet. Cast iron loves a campfire, a stovetop, or an oven, and can slow-cook foods without scorching and sear meat at higher temperatures. A good all-purpose size at 10-1/4 inches in diameter and 2 inches deep, this skillet can fry up eggs, pancakes, steaks, chicken, hamburgers, and can bake desserts and casseroles as well. A helper handle aids in lifting, and the looped primary handle allows hanging. Two side spouts pour off grease or juice. Even though the pan comes pre-seasoned, applying a little vegetable oil before use helps prevent food from sticking. Whether used in a kitchen or camp, this virtually indestructible pan should last for generations and is covered by a lifetime warranty. –Ann Bieri

Lodge Manufacturing Company L8SGP3ASHH41B Lodge Cast Iron 10.5-inch Square Grill Pan Black

Last update was on: Sunday, August 9, 2020

Style Name:Grill Pan with Hot Handle Holder

The Lodge Cast Iron 10.5-inch Square Grill pan and Red Silicone Hot Handle Holder is a multi-functional cookware that works wonders with slow-cooking recipes and all your favorite foods. This pre-seasoned grill pan works like a charm right out of the box. Cast iron creates superior heat retention, heats evenly, and loves a campfire, unlike flimsier pans. Saute, sear, fry, bake and stir fry to heart’s content in this generous 10.5-inch pan that features two handles for heavy lifting. While the pan comes pre-seasoned to prevent food from sticking, it works best when sprayed or lightly coated with vegetable oil before use. The Lodge seasoning procedure is a multiple-step process in which the seasoning oil is applied via an electrostatic spray system that coats the cookware, then it’s baked in commercial ovens at very high temperatures. This allows the oil to penetrate deeply into the pores of the iron. This seasoning process achieves a seasoned finish that would take many months of home use to achieve.

Organic Cast Iron Oil & Cast Iron Conditioner (4 oz) – Made from Flaxseed Oil grown and pressed in the USA – Creates a Non-Stick Seasoning on All Cast Iron Cookware

Last update was on: Sunday, August 9, 2020

Size:4 oz

Kuche Chef Cast Iron Oil is ideal for seasoning cast iron because it’s a “drying oil”, which means it will transform into a hard, tough film.

The seasoning on cast iron is formed by fat polymerization, fat polymerization is maximized with a drying oil, and flaxseed oil is the only drying oil that’s edible.

Cast iron oil is the perfect conditioner for all cast iron cookware such as pots, pans, skillets, dutch ovens, woks, griddles and mineral B pans.

How to season cast iron:

1. Warm clean cast iron pan for 15 minutes in a 200°F (100°C) oven to open its pores.
2. Remove the pan from the oven. Place 1 tablespoon cast iron oil in the pan and using tongs, rub the oil into the surface with paper towels. With fresh paper towels, thoroughly wipe out the pan to remove excess oil.
3. Place the oiled pan upside down in a cold oven, then set the oven to 450°F (250°C) and heat for 60 minutes. Turn off the oven; cool the pan in the oven for at least two hours.
4. Repeat the process five more times or until the pan develops a dark, semi-matte surface.

Tip: Do not attempt to speed up the process with thicker coats of oil. The process needs to be timed and measured. You will still need grease when cooking.

This cast iron conditioner will NOT go rancid or leave a sticky, smelly residue.

Cast iron maintenance tips:

1. To prevent scratching of the cooking surface use only wooden or silicone utensils
2. Rinse cast iron hot water and scrub with a chainmail scrubber and kosher salt immediately after each use. Do not use soap
3. Always hand wash your cast iron or carbon steel cookware and do not leave it to soak in water
4. Never wash cast iron cookware in the dishwasher
5. Dry your cast iron in warm oven after use to avoid rust damage

Kuche Chef Cast Iron Oil is suitable for use by vegans and vegetarians.

Please keep the oil refrigerated after opening the lid, for long term use.

Product Description

The Lodge Cast Iron 10.5-inch Griddle is a multi-functional cookware that works wonders with all your favorite foods. This griddle is essential for big breakfasts, tortillas, quesadillas, roasted vegetables and grilled sandwiches. Cast iron loves a campfire, a stovetop, or an oven, and can slow-cook foods without scorching. Sporting a stylish black color, the cast iron cookware looks good in most kitchens and it doubles up as an excellent source of nutritional iron. Measures 10.5-inches diameter and .5-inches deep.

The black patina given to the cookware by the factory seasoning process is, in fact, vegetable oil that has been baked into a piece of cookware that has emerged from an individual sand mold. This coating of oil is a functional application and not a cosmetic application. The cookware is hanging as it rides through the electrostatic sprayer and commercial conveyor ovens at very high temperatures. This allows the oil to penetrate deeply into the pores of the iron which creates an easy release finish. As a result of this process, you may see a blister or bubble of oil at the southern-most point or at the end of the handle of the cookware piece. If visible, it will rub or flake off with your finger, leaving a brown spot. Don’t worry, it’s not rust but a seasoned spot that is brown, indicative of the varnish stage of seasoning. As a matter of fact, this is the color of home seasoned iron until it has been used several times. The brown spot will turn black with use.
